Privacy Policy
Effective August 26, 2026 · Last updated August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how YTRank collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you browse the leaderboard, submit a YouTube channel, or pay for a rank. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
YTRank collects the information needed to run a public paid leaderboard, confirm payments, retrieve channel details, measure traffic, and protect the Service.
- Submitted listing data. The YouTube URL or handle, category, intended bid, and the public channel information returned by YouTube after payment.
- Payment records. Stripe Checkout and Payment Intent identifiers, payment status, amount paid, and bid totals. Stripe—not YTRank—collects and processes full card details and billing information.
- Public channel metadata. A channel name, handle, thumbnail, description, view count, subscriber count when public, and YouTube channel identifier. Invalid submissions may be stored as a public placeholder until corrected.
- Technical and security data. Request information such as IP address, user agent, referrer, and timestamps may be processed by YTRank and its infrastructure providers to deliver the site, apply rate limits, prevent abuse, deduplicate outbound clicks, and investigate errors. For click deduplication, YTRank converts the IP address and channel ID into a one-way HMAC value before sending the key to Upstash.
- Analytics data. DataFast processes cookieless traffic and live-visitor measurements. YTRank also links to a public DataFast traffic dashboard.
- Messages. If you contact support about a correction, payment, rights notice, or privacy request, the message and related identifiers may be retained as needed to respond and keep appropriate records.
Cookies and local storage
YTRank stores your light or dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. This preference stays on your device until you clear it.
YTRank uses DataFast's cookieless analytics script. Stripe and other third-party services may use cookies or similar technology when you visit their pages, according to their own policies.
Why we use information
- Provide the Service. Create Stripe Checkout sessions, confirm payments, resolve YouTube channels, publish rankings, process rebids, and show leaderboard statistics.
- Protect YTRank. Rate-limit Checkout attempts, prevent fraud and abuse, secure the Service, debug failures, and enforce the Terms and Rules.
- Operate and improve. Measure aggregate traffic, understand feature usage, maintain availability, and improve the leaderboard experience.
- Meet legal obligations. Maintain payment, accounting, dispute, complaint, and rights-management records when required.
Public leaderboard information
Channel names, handles, thumbnails, descriptions, public statistics, categories, bid totals, ranks, and click counts displayed on YTRank are public. They may be seen by anyone and indexed by search engines.
If YouTube cannot verify a paid submission, YTRank may publicly show the submitted handle, category, bid, and a correction placeholder without channel statistics. Do not submit a channel if you are not authorized to make that information public.
Service providers and sharing
YTRank does not sell personal information. Information is processed or shared only as needed with:
- Stripe, for Checkout, payment processing, receipts, fraud prevention, and payment confirmation.
- Google and YouTube, to resolve submitted channels and retrieve public channel metadata after payment.
- Vercel and related infrastructure, to host, deliver, monitor, and secure the application.
- DataFast, for cookieless analytics, aggregate traffic reporting, and live visitor counts.
- Authorities, advisers, or a successor to the Service when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, handle a dispute, or complete a business transfer.
Retention
- Public channel and ranking records remain while needed to operate the leaderboard and preserve bid history.
- Stripe identifiers and payment amounts are retained as needed for accounting, tax, fraud, refunds, disputes, and legal compliance.
- Click-deduplication keys expire after 24 hours. Other rate-limit and technical records are kept only as long as useful for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
- Support correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve the request and maintain an appropriate record.
- Backups may retain deleted information for a limited period before being overwritten.
International processing and security
YTRank and its providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, providers may rely on contractual or other lawful safeguards for international transfers.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be limited where records must be retained for legal, payment, fraud, or rights-protection purposes.
To request a listing correction, removal, or privacy action, use the YTRank support contact shown on the website or your Stripe receipt. Include enough information to identify the relevant listing or payment, but never send full card details.
Children
YTRank is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact support if you believe a child has submitted information so it can be reviewed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when YTRank, its providers, or applicable requirements change. The revision date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
